Song: “William Tell Overture” from the opera of the same name by Gioachino Rossini

Episodes:
Too many to list. :)

Behind the Scenes:
I’ve had people apologize to me for laughing at this music video. I’ve assured them they oughtn’t apologize, for I was hooting with laughter as I compiled this monstrosity back in 2006.

You see, from the first airing of this series, I’ve hummed this song in my head whenever Vincent ran to the rescue. And they use the same clips for nearly every episode.

Ever notice that there’s little continuity in costumes as Vincent is shown running through one tunnel, and then the other? One moment he’s wearing the calf-high utilitarian boots, and the next he’s wearing a whole different shirt and leather boots that go up to his thighs? It’s a well-known joke in fandom, in which people joke that he has phonebooths strategically hidden along the way so that he may change clothes, do the scene, change clothes again and do the next. One wonders how his clothes can keep changing if he’s in such a hurry to rescue his lady love.

Anyway, that’s part of the running gag in this video. The other part has to do with the silly, repetitive running he’s depicted doing over and over. And then there’s that redonk riding-the-subway thing.

I tried to organize all these clips in a logical way–Vincent barooing as he feels Catherine in imminent danger, Vincent running to the rescue, Vincent beating up the bad guys, Vincent assisting Catherine to safety.
